This Porsche 911 started life as a 1983 Porsche 911 SC Coupe.  It was then taken apart and turned into a re-creation 1973 911 RS.  It still bears the vin # WP0AA0911DS120316 and is registered as the 1983 Porsche 911.  During the re-creation process everything on the car was touched.  The description of the changes below:

Body:  The body was disassembled and taken down to metal with all glass removed.  It was then prepared with the correct metal panels included the hood and front fenders and repainted in traditional and correct Viper Green with a black stripe.  Front and rear bumpers are the correct fiberglass panels along with the traditional ducktail.  The body work and panel fitment were performed by the well know restoration shop, Foreign Specialties, located in Manville, NJ.  All polished aluminum trim, door handles and mirrors were replaced with new and correct pieces from an early 1973 long nose era.  Additionally, on the exterior, the car was fitted with the correct rubber closures clamps on the hood and trunk and updated to Italian tail light lenses and European H4 headlights.

Engine:  The engine was rebuilt 4,000 miles ago and then tuned by know Porsche specialist Powertech of Rockway, NJ.  The engine is a 3.0 Litre engine and transmission for a 911 SC.  When the engine was rebuilt, it was mildly enhanced with a sport cam and updated chain tensioner. Also, a front mounted oil cooler was added and set in the new fiberglass front spoiler.  A Dansk Exhaust 2 was added with new heat exchangers as well.  All fuel injection was rebuilt and revamped to handle the additional power.  The transmission was taken apart and examined and anything that needed to be replaced or upgrade was completed, and a custom short shifter was added to shorten the throws and make the shifting more precise.

Suspension:  The suspension was refreshed with new bushings and shocks and the ride height was lowered to give it a more appropriate stance.  It is fitted with a set of 17 x 8 front wheels and 17 x 10 rear wheels with a Fuchs design manufactured by Braid with new Michelin Pilot Sports all around along with rear wheel spacers.

Interior:  The interior was completely replaced in black vinyl with the correct doors, new dash panel trim and RS lightweight carpets.  The car has the correct roll up windows for an RS but still retains it factory power sun roof.  The seats that are in the car are GTS buckets finished in a matching green tartan plaid centers and black bolsters and headrests.

This car was re-created to come as close as possible to a correct Factory 1973 Porsche 911 RS as possible while still giving it the modern drive and performance of a fuel injected 3.0 Litre car.
